On March 10, 2009 Ger Bemer was awarded the TPM Nakajima prize for outstanding dedication to TPM.
The award was handed to Ger Bemer, managing director at Nedalco, by Mr. Nakajima personally for his dedication in implementing and contributing to TPM for more than 10 years. According to JIPM-S, Ger’s involvement led the way to widespread implementation of TPM in Unilever and Nedalco group.
JIPM Solutions Co., Ltd. has been contributing to TPM influence and development since its
foundation. To commemorate the founding year of JIPM Solutions a prize has been established
named after the founder of TPM, Seiichi Nakajima. The Nakajima Prize honors those individuals
who have been contributing to TPM with the same dedication and enthusiasm as Mr. Nakajima.
Since 1951, Seiichi Nakajima has worked for over half a century to influence the concepts of
TPM as a leader, and continues to this day. In these days, increasing numbers of TPM Award
winners from countries outside Japan evidence that over 50 years of his committed effort is a
genuine and valuable dedication to not only the Japanese manufacturing industry but also for
manufacturing industry all over the world. Without his remarkable effort, TPM and the
manufacturing industry would not have been what it is today.
During the ceremony that took place in Tokyo on 10 March, Ger said “I feel extremely honored
to receive this prize and meet with Mr. Nakajima personally. I hope that I can still make a
contribution in the future because I firmly believe that it’s unthinkable that a manufacturing
company is not using TPM and still survives.”
